Soft colours of September this morning. It's been Soft colours of September this morning. It's been a while since I got up early and went out to sketch before breakfast. I sketched with watercolours mostly and then overlay with crayons. I didn't want to overwork it so gave myself a time limit of 25 mins. I also just wanted to be outside in the cool air as I've been struggling with my skin in recent weeks. I spent a sunny September morning in Cadgwith, fil I spent a sunny September morning in Cadgwith, filming my original sketches that feature in my 2022 calendar and decided to stay on and sketch the cottages and landscape. Colours are beginning to change and the greens becoming warmer shades with spots of mustard, brown and rust. Didn't attempt to capture all the cottages(there are so many) just a few that caught my eye. I think my favourite is definitely the one at the bottom which overlooks the cove. I'm excited to present to you something that has b I'm excited to present to you something that has been in the works since the beginning of the year and now after a few intense months of scanning and formatting I can now introduce to you my first ever 12 month wall Calendar! If you're a follower of my personal work you'll know that 2020 was all about my black and white postcards- a project where I undertook a daily drawing habit of sketching a postcard of my surroundings (scroll back through my feed and you'll see a postcard for everyday of 2020). This year conversely has been all about colours, layering and creating loose and fresh textures with a range of media. These started out in my sketchbook and then once back in the studio I worked to create a body of pieces directly inspired by these drawings attempting to keep the energy and vibrancy that I had captured in my sketchbook. I felt a calendar format would be the best way to present this work as the views were drawn throughout the year and on location. Each month invites you to immerse yourself in either the harbours, fishing coves or rugged landscapes that make up this unique part of Cornwall. To gauge interest I am offering them on pre-order at an introductory price of £12- usual price £15 and they will then be shipped out beginning of November.
