  • No.24 Mawgan Stores, Mawgan Lizard peninsula, Cornwall. Black ink, brushpen ☁️overcast, dry, calm 🖌Today's postcard is from Mawgan and in particular Mawgan Stores. I've sketched the brilliant green telephone box which houses @sapling_and_bud's plants 🌻last year but wanted to sketch the front this time. This is obviously the hub of the village as there were so many coming and going to get their groceries, newspapers, lunches, bits and pieces. A bit more of an awkward one to sketch, squeezed right into the brambles on the opposite side of the road, as cars whizzed past, a little close for comfort. There were also the wonderful smells of the country which made me question several times if I was actually stood in manure 🙄💩 A kitty cat also features 🐱 . . . 👉2020 Postcard Project-a daily sketching challenge.   • No.23 Coverack beach, Lizard peninsula, Cornwall. Black ink, watercolour ☀️dry, changeable, slight wind Today's postcard is from Coverack. It was fun to draw all the little houses and buildings that line the sloping coastline. I started sketching from the left with the rocks and the old Lifeboat Station which has now been converted into an eatery, then the Paris Hotel, the harbour walls and a couple of boats, followed by all the little buildings, I even spotted some daffodils in full bloom.   • No.22 Swallowcourt, Poldhu Beach, Lizard, Cornwall Black ink, brushpen ☁️Damp, misty, cold Such a contrast to yesterday's bright blue skies, we are back to mist and damp. The sea is all pastely shades of turquoise and teal. The postcard today is from Poldhu beach this time looking at the opposite cliff to my first postcard no.1. The building on the horizon was originally the Poldhu Hotel bulit in 1898 to house Marconi's workers (see postcard no.9). It's now a nursing home, Swallowcourt.   • No.21 The Square, St.Keverne, Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall Black ink, brushpen ☀️Sunny, bright, calm. Another bright and sunny day here on the Lizard. Today's postcard is from St. Keverne village square. There are so many characterful buildings around the square it was hard to pick which view to sketch. I decided to include St.Keverne church on the right with the pub @threetunscornwall on the left and the classic white signs which feature in abundance throughout these rural areas. . . 👉2020 Postcard Project-a daily sketching challenge.
