Another Cornish food treat 😋 Fairings-which are Another Cornish food treat 😋 Fairings-which are buttery spiced ginger biscuits. Originally they were the name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs around England. The Cornish version was the spiced ginger biscuit and during the 1800s young men used to gift them to their sweethearts. Today @furnissbiscuits are the chief makers of these golden treats baking the original Cornish Fairing since 1886. Continuing with my Cornish food theme. Here's Yarg Continuing with my Cornish food theme. Here's Yarg cheese. Yarg is simply the name Gray spelt backwards named after Alan and Jenny Gray, farmers who found a 1615 recipe for semi hard cheese in their attic in 1980s. It comes wrapped in nettle leaves and has a creamy flavour. Faces from the weekend. I visited @roskorwellfarm' Faces from the weekend. I visited @roskorwellfarm's Christmas craft fair on the weekend, to shop for gifts and took my camera. It looked like the weather was a complete wash out It looked like the weather was a complete wash out this morning but then the sun came out. It was still wildly windy and biting cold but I sketched from the front seat of my car after a hearty ladies breakfast at Porthallow and managed to take a few pics pinning down the pages with pebbles! I used my @derwentartofficial inktense paint pan set as the colour palette seemed perfect for capturing this coastline.
